About The Position

The Hardware Component Engineer addresses complex product industrialization challenges, including component lifecycle management, through innovative problem-solving and sound engineering judgment. The role combines technical engineering ownership with contract manufacturer (CM) performance, supply continuity, and proactive component lifecycle risk management. The engineer initiates design and process changes at supplier sites within PDLM-managed projects, ensuring integration with applicable standards and timelines. The position partners with contract manufacturers, procurement, planning, and internal supply chain teams to improve on-time delivery, material availability, lead times, inventory performance, and production capacity while identifying and mitigating supply constraints. It owns lifecycle management for electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components, including BOM health, PCN/EOL monitoring, obsolescence risk, alternate components, last-time-buy decisions, and supplier continuity. The engineer coordinates design changes and qualifications when needed and uses structured, data-driven problem-solving to address manufacturing and supply-chain gaps, drive corrective actions, and resolve recurring production issues. This is an onsite role in Minnesota. Employees in onsite roles are required to be present at company facilities full time.
