About The Position

This position involves hanging poultry on a moving overhead conveyor line for additional processing. The role requires participation as a member of a team, adhering to Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives, and performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives. The work environment is a plant setting with strenuous physical effort, including repetitive lifting and reaching, and requires the use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment.
• Lift an average 10-15 lb product, repetitively, above shoulders at a rate of up to 35 birds per minute.
• Strenuous physical effort required.
• Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
• Constant standing, simple and power grasping of the hands, fine manipulation/feeling with the hands, reaching at, below shoulder level, above shoulder level, repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands, light lifting/carrying, use of vision.
• Inside line work around loud equipment/machines; walking around drains, footbaths, hoses; wet environment, occasional dust.
• Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s)/beard net(s), facemask and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience working around moving equipment.
• Preference for poultry or food processing organization.

Responsibilities

• Hangs birds for processing at established line speed.
• Removes under-grade product from the line and puts it in a designated location.
• Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Maintains familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
