About The Position

This position is responsible for hanging poultry on a moving overhead conveyor line for additional processing. The role involves participating as a member of the team, adhering to Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives, and performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives. The job requires the ability to work efficiently in a plant environment, performing strenuous physical effort.

Requirements

• Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment.
• Lift an average 10-15 lb product, repetitively, above shoulders at a rate of up to 35 birds per minute.
• Strenuous physical effort required.
• Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
• Constant standing, simple and power grasping of the hands, fine manipulation/feeling with the hands, reaching at, below shoulder level, above shoulder level, repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands, light lifting/carrying, use of vision.
• Works inside line work around loud equipment/machines; walking around drains, footbaths, hoses; wet environment, occasional dust.
• Will use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s)/beard net(s), facemask and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience working around moving equipment.
• Preference for poultry or food processing organization.

Responsibilities

• Hangs birds for processing at established line speed.
• Removes under-grade product from the line and puts it in a designated location.
• Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Maintains familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to support them.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
