About The Position

The Hanauma Bay Tram Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in supervising and coordinating activities of Hanauma Bay Tram employees to provide cost effective, timely, and quality service to customers, and business partners. The Supervisor will assist in leading a team of drivers and support staff who operate transfer shuttles to and from the visitors office and the beach (Nature Preserve). The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring drivers operate in a safe and timely manner, all while providing service to Hanauma Bay and their guests.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and leadership ability to develop safe, efficient and autonomous operating employees.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly while under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Drivers, customers, on-site staff/management.
  • Minimum 3 years of related transportation and operations experience, within management preferred.
  • Required a Hawaii driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively under minimum supervision.
  • Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office which includes, but not limited to MS Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and handle multiple task and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment to initiate appropriate changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong ability to lead and/or work in teams to accomplish defined common goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in fast paced, demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Management or related field preferred.
  • CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising and coordinating activities of Hanauma Bay Tram employees.
  • Assist in leading a team of drivers and support staff.
  • Ensure drivers operate in a safe and timely manner.
  • Manage and uphold vehicle cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Drive routes and relieve drivers as necessary or in any event of emergency.
  • Supervise staff of shuttle drivers and work in partnership with other operational areas.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff.
  • Have influence and input regarding employee performance and review.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
