WAVY Unpaid Hampton Roads Show/Production Intern, Spring 2027
About The Position
WAVY-TV 10/WVBT FOX43/The CW Hampton Roads is searching for a dynamic HAMPTON ROADS SHOW/PRODUCTION INTERN who wants to work alongside producers to plan and prep our daily lifestyle and entertainment show, and directors on technical production. This is an UNPAID / FOR-CREDIT position for the Spring 2027 semester only. The successful candidate must have a willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other. Before beginning, the intern must be enrolled in a college degree granting program, and will be required to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program.
Requirements
- Courses completed in communications, TV production, journalism, theater or related field
- Ability to stay calm under tight deadlines
- Good communication skills with the team and guests of the show
- Must be enrolled in a college degree granting program

Responsibilities
- Working in the show rundown daily (writing/graphics creation)
- Floor directing during the show
- Greeting and putting mics on guests
- Prop set up and take down
- Re-set/wrap set after each show
- Moving cameras
- Kitchen cleanup
- Posting stories to the website
- Social media content creation
