The Hallmark Merchandiser works independently in assigned retail stores to maintain and showcase Hallmark products, build relationships with store teams, and support seasonal resets and installations. The role involves servicing Hallmark departments in grocery, drug, department, and mass-retail stores, while sometimes working with other companies’ products in those stores. The merchandiser is responsible for the Hallmark product display at assigned stores and collaborates with local store employees and fellow merchandisers as needed. Day-to-day work includes restocking and organizing products, monitoring inventory, using a Hallmark-provided mobile device for work tasks and communications, and interacting professionally with store employees, management, and customers. Seasonal periods may require additional workdays or extended hours, with possible work on certain holidays. Reset assignments may involve building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; these assignments are typically announced two weeks in advance and may take place in the evening or on weekends. This part-time position has a variable work-week schedule and averages 8–10 hours per week. The starting pay rate is $16.50–$18.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Paid training is provided through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. The role requires access to reliable transportation to travel between assigned stores, internet and Wi-Fi access, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in sales-floor and back-stockroom settings.
