About The Position

As a part-time Merchandiser, you will independently service Hallmark departments in retail stores, using organization and time-management skills to showcase products and build relationships with retailers. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory, and support other team members with seasonal resets and installations as needed. On occasion, you may work with products from other companies in the stores you service.

The work has three main components. Day-to-day duties include restocking, organizing, and monitoring Hallmark inventory in and outside the Hallmark department; maintaining the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores; using a Hallmark-provided mobile device for work tasks and communications; and interacting professionally with store employees, management, and customers. Seasonal work may involve additional days and extended hours before and after major holidays, and may require working on certain holidays, including weekends. Department resets may include building and installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections; remodel assignments are typically communicated two weeks in advance and may involve evenings or weekends. Merchandisers are part of a field network that supports other team members in their territories as needed.

This is a physically demanding role performed on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms. It requires frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of items up to 30 pounds, occasional handling of items up to 50 pounds, and kneeling, squatting, walking, and standing throughout the workday. Climbing stairs and step ladders may also be required.

The position averages 7–10 hours per week, with a variable schedule during the work week. Starting pay is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Paid training is provided through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. Part-time employees scheduled for fewer than 30 hours have access to voluntary benefits. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Able to frequently grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds and occasionally handle up to 50 pounds.
• Able to kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the workday; may need to climb stairs and step ladders.
• Able to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Support fellow merchandisers in other territories as needed.
• Travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
