About The Position

As a Merchandiser, you will independently service Hallmark departments in a variety of retail stores, including grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. You will represent Hallmark, build relationships with local store teams, optimize product placement, and maintain inventory. You may also support seasonal resets, installations, and other team members, and may occasionally work with products from other companies in the stores you service.

The position averages 7–10 hours per week with a variable schedule during the work week. Workload may increase around major holidays and during season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support. The role includes day-to-day product restocking and organization, holiday support, department resets and fixture installations, and collaboration with Hallmark’s field organization. Work takes place on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms, and requires physical activity throughout the workday.

Starting pay is $17.00–$19.00 per hour depending on skills and experience. Paid training includes live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. Eligible employees receive annual pay increases. Part-time employees with schedules under 30 hours have access to voluntary benefits, including dental, vision, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity, and minimum essential coverage for preventive care.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Able to frequently grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Able to operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
• Access to a Wi-Fi network and the internet.
• Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
• Availability during the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends.
• Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.

Responsibilities

• Restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory within and outside the Hallmark department at assigned stores.
• Manage the entire Hallmark product display at assigned stores.
• Use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for work activities and communication, including reporting time, providing feedback, and completing required surveys.
• Interact professionally and courteously with store employees, management, and customers.
• Provide additional support around holidays, which may involve extra workdays or extended hours and, on some occasions, working on the holiday itself.
• Support installations and department resets, including building or installing fixtures, relocating card departments and products, and resetting card sections.
• Support other merchandisers in their territories as needed.
• Support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory activities.
