About The Position

A Fantastic Sams salon manager ensures the success of the business by providing fantastic guest service at all times, building and leading a successful work team, demonstrating effective business intelligence and maintaining operational excellence. The manager balances these priorities while following all company policies, procedures and consistently directing the staff and self to build a strong base of return guests.

Requirements

  • 2 years salon management experience or 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent
  • Cosmetology license
  • Advanced competencies in salon service and product sales.
  • Knowledge of State board of Cosmetology regulations and hiring requirements.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build a strong and productive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Align with and carry out salon Mission/Vision/Values and provide Fantastic Guest Service.
  • Take initiative to get things done.
  • Be solution oriented.
  • Train and ensure the team utilizes the 5 step Guest Service System including the 3-3-3 process for a consistent guest experience.
  • Train and prepare all team members to provide excellent technical service to a diverse clientele base.
  • Spend at least 80% of scheduled work hours performing hair services on guests and meet personal productivity goals.
  • Handle guest complaints with diplomacy and professionalism, always looking to offer a solution that will strengthen the salon’s relationship with the dissatisfied guest.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming salon environment for guests and team members.
  • Lead by example. Be on time, runway ready, for each shift with a positive, energetic attitude to promote success within the salon.
  • Manage all salon personnel. Recruit, interview, train, build product knowledge, develop technical and soft skills, and manage performance.
  • Lead by developing the staff and their personal productivity with 1:1’s. Have clear vision of each individual stylist’s goals and articulate the steps required to achieve them.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to each team member. Routinely coach each team member regarding work performances and set an excellent example of performance and behavior for the team to follow.
  • Identify the skill development needed for each stylist and determine the appropriate training resource to develop the skill.
  • Ensure the team members attend all required training programs.
  • Meet or exceed financial metrics including service revenue, average ticket, guest count, color services, guest retention, and professional retail sales.
  • On a daily/weekly/monthly basis, analyze salon sales, expenses and trends using the POS system. Track progress against weekly revenue goals, stylist productivity goals, average ticket goals, professional retail goals and guest retention goals.
  • Demonstrate business intelligence, with an understanding of key business drivers. Identify opportunities for growth; including, but not limited to building guest count building retail sales payroll management, staff and scheduling efficiently.
  • Use on-going business goals to develop quarterly action plans, with clear steps and measurements.
  • Follow up with guests to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Marketing – including, but not limited to social media, community events, & business partnerships.
  • Timely and open communication with Franchisee.
  • Maintain appropriate minimum and maximum par levels for all supplies, including retail, back bar, and maintenance items. Stay within budgets for fixed and variable costs.
  • Manage and keep inventory under control and within budget.
  • Place, check in and stock salon supply orders in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Ensure salon operates efficiently with little to no waste.
  • Create systems to ensure loss prevention.
  • Maintain all safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards per TDLR.
  • Implement daily/weekly/monthly housekeeping and cleaning duties and hold the team accountable to maintain them.
