About The Position

The Phantom Fall Fest Hair & Makeup Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the transformation of our Team into chilling and/or realistic characters. This position is responsible for expertly putting on make-up, prosthetics, and wigs/hairstyles within the design for the attraction. This position works closely with our Costume Specialist and Makeup Artists to create cohesive looks for all Halloween characters.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws.
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift.
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a fast-paced team.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday.
• Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time while applying makeup.
• Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders.
• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools.
• Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away.

Nice To Haves

• Previous acting or costume character experience is desired but not required.
• Previous special effects make up experience and portfolio is preferred but not required.
• Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the transformation of the Team into chilling and/or realistic characters.
• Expertly putting on make-up, prosthetics, and wigs/hairstyles within the design for the attraction.
• Working closely with Costume Specialist and Makeup Artists to create cohesive looks for all Halloween characters.
• Engage with guests and other team members in a fun and welcoming manner.
• Add make-up and/or prosthetics to character performers to fit the design and theming of specific attractions and events.
• Apply makeup efficiently and hygienically, ensuring comfort for the wearer.
• Create attention-grabbing make-up designs to enhance the realism of the character.
• Create stunning visuals and special effects that add realism and/or shock factor to character appearances.
• Work closely with the Costume Specialist, Makeup Artists, Wardrobe Assistants, performers, and event leadership to ensure makeup complements costumes and overall character portrayal.
• Be prepared to troubleshoot and touch up makeup throughout the event as needed, adapting to various conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
• Manage your time effectively to ensure all performers are ready on schedule.
• Proactively monitor assigned areas and quickly identify and escalate any safety hazards or other risks to the proper authorities.
• Ensure compliance with and enforce all park policies, procedures, and labor laws.
• Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Lake Compounce’s core values.
• Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members.
• Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.
• Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all events-related positions and backfill these positions when needed.
