About The Position

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) is seeking a Habitat Restoration Project Coordinator to develop and implement habitat restoration actions at the provincial level (Quebec). This full-time permanent position involves identifying and researching potential wetland and aquatic habitat restoration sites, conducting site assessments, wildlife and vegetation inventories, and compiling data into reports. The role also includes collaborating on site design concepts, preparing restoration proposals and various reports, participating in funding research and grant applications, managing service contracts, and assisting in project implementation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in natural habitat restoration and green infrastructure development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to environmental studies, water science, water resources engineering, or agronomy
  • Good knowledge of environmental regulations.

  • Experience in project financial management, tendering (procurement), and reporting is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Quebec and possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and researching potential wetland and aquatic habitat restoration sites in collaboration with partners.
  • Conducting site assessments as well as wildlife and vegetation inventories and compiling and entering data into reports.
  • Collaborating on the development of site design concepts for potential projects in partnership with local stakeholders.
  • Preparing wildlife habitat restoration proposals, as well as progress, technical, and inspection reports.
  • Participating in funding research and grant applications for the restoration program and completing financial reports.
  • Contributing to the management of service contracts with various engineering consulting firms and contractors.
  • Collaborating in the implementation of habitat restoration projects.
