Gynecologic Oncology Physician (MD/DO)
About The Position
Munson Healthcare is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Gynecologic Oncologist to join its growing practice in Traverse City, Michigan, starting December 2028. The physician will diagnose, treat, and manage cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and fallopian tube cancers. Care includes surgery, chemotherapy, clinical research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and survivorship planning. The position is based at the Cowell Family Cancer Center, an 80,000-square-foot facility opened in 2016. The center includes an outpatient procedure suite for gynecologic oncology, an infusion suite, three Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, a dedicated HDR brachytherapy suite with CT and anesthesia, and PET and theragnostic therapies. The practice is supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes a gynecologic oncologist, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists. The role has a 2:4 call schedule: one week of primary call and the second week as backup for the advanced practice provider. Munson Medical Center is a regional referral center with a broad range of surgical subspecialties and a robust robotic surgery program.
Requirements
- Physician specializing in gynecologic oncology and the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancers of the female reproductive system.
- Board certification or eligibility in OBGYN.
- Active Michigan medical license or eligibility for licensure in Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage cancers affecting the female reproductive system, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and fallopian tube cancers.
- Provide comprehensive cancer care through surgery, chemotherapy, clinical research, multidisciplinary collaboration, and survivorship planning.
- Participate in the 2:4 call schedule, serving one week as primary call and the second week as backup for the APP.
