About The Position

The Manchester YMCA is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic part time gymnastics instructor to lead Parent & Child Gymnastics classes. The coach will be responsible for running practices, teaching basic gymnastics skills, and fostering growth in coordination, flexibility, strength, and confidence in young children.

Requirements

Basic gymnastics knowledge and experience.
Ability to instruct and spot school age children in basic gymnastics skills.
Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents.
Physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
Experience in working with children and with gymnastics and/or movement basics.
Willingness to learn and demonstrate appropriate spotting and teaching techniques.

Nice To Haves

First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are desired upon hire but not required.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a safe and enjoyable gymnastics program.
Run practices.
Teach basic gymnastics skills.
Foster growth in coordination, flexibility, strength, and confidence in young children.
Create lesson plans for youth ages 5-11.
Purchase necessary materials.
Provide leadership to other gymnastics staff.
