Gym Monitor - Petersburg YMCA
About The Position
The Petersburg Family YMCA is seeking part-time responsible individuals to oversee gymnasium services and activities. This position starts at $13.00 per hour and requires work hours Monday-Friday evenings from 4pm-8pm, and Saturdays from 7am-11am. The gym monitor is responsible for overall gymnasium services, including special projects, maintenance, equipment inventory, and event setup/breakdown. Key responsibilities include maintaining surveillance during games and activities, facilitating seating and setup for gym rentals, and building positive relationships with members and staff.
Requirements
- Service-oriented, role model with a member-first attitude
- Able to recognize and respond to unsafe situations
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to use a computer, telephone, and related business equipment
- Able to communicate effectively with others
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Responsibilities
- Oversee gymnasium services and activities
- Perform gymnasium maintenance
- Maintain inventory of equipment
- Set-up and breakdown of events
- Maintain surveillance during games, activities, and member participation
- Facilitate seating and set up for gym rental, as necessary
- Build and maintain positive relationships with members and staff
- Perform special projects as assigned
