About The Position

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is a leading non-profit organization focused on education, wellness, youth development, and community-building. They aim to positively impact lives and communities by providing high-quality literacy and STEAM-infused learning for over 3,000 children, offering sports, aquatics, camps, and leadership programs to 58,000 youth and teens, and delivering programs and services to over 200,000 members. The organization also engages over 25,000 volunteers and donors. The Basketball Gym Monitor, under the direction of the Membership Director, will supervise the basketball gym and surrounding areas for various activities such as family basketball, pick-up basketball, youth basketball, pickleball, and volleyball. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety of participants and spectators and requires adherence to the policies, goals, mission, values, and objectives of the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta. Requirements

Must meet minimum age requirement of 18 years old
One year or more of related experience preferred
High degree of Human relation and Conflict Management skills to tactfully enforce all rules and regulations
Professional appearance appropriate for a family-friendly environment
Current state approved CPR/AED certification required.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, motor vehicle record (MVR) and reference check according to company policy.
Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Supervises the gym and surrounding areas to ensure safety and welfare of users
Reports and monitors all mechanical and equipment problems
Sets up equipment and returns equipment to storage
Ensures cleanliness and safety of facilities and equipment
Tactfully enforces all rules, regulations and policies
Maintains proper documentation and reports incidents and accidents
Assists other staff
Answers inquiries from participants and provides information
Other duties as assigned.
