About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a music educator to teach guitar lessons and inspire students. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels, and builds positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates. The teacher partners with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The position offers a non-teaching rate of $15.16 per hour and a teaching rate of $10.50–$21 per hour, depending on background and experience. Eligible musician employees may take gig leave to perform or tour and return to their jobs afterward.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of music teaching experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments. Listed instruments include banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
