About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a guitar teacher to teach and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment, builds positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates, and works with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. The role offers an opportunity to focus on teaching while Music & Arts handles administrative work. The position pays $12.77 per hour for non-teaching work and $10–$23 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience. Musicians may take gig leave to perform and return to their jobs afterward.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of music teaching experience, especially on guitar.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience on related instruments.
• Master’s or doctoral degree in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments: banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
