About The Position

The Guitar Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to increase student count and ensure students continue to grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The teacher partners with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, helps provide customer service, and builds lasting student relationships through a positive experience. They communicate frequently with students and families about each student's progress and goals, building trusting partnerships with parents. Compensation is listed as $17.13–$21.65 per hour for non-teaching work and up to $28.83 per hour for teaching work, depending on background and experience. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as bass, guitar, or keyboard.
Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed and create a positive experience to build and maintain long-term students.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
Communicate each student's progress and share students' or parents' goals and progress frequently.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
