About The Position

Provides cultural information through demonstrations and lectures, and teaches songs, dances, crafts, games and cultural phrases to guests. Learns how to create, maintain and/or do repairs of moderate difficulty on cultural artifacts, buildings, and props using a variety of equipment and materials. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Good health and have a voice that can endure up to four hours of speaking in any given time frame.
  • Capable of moving freely among the guests and be capable of full range body movement.
  • Able to communicate in English.
  • Know the basics of playing the ukulele.
  • Look Polynesian.
  • Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable about the culture being represented.
  • Able to speak the language of the culture being represented.
  • Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks.
