About The Position

Provides guided walking tours in English and/or Chinese. Assists guests throughout the tour, answering questions whenever possible. Receives guest arrival information and provides initial greeting and orientation. Welcome and thank you for your interest in a job at BYU–Hawaii. Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English and Chinese.
  • Must have a basic knowledge about the various cultural areas encountered during the tour.
  • Requires good health and a voice that can endure up to four hours of speaking in any given time frame.
  • Must be capable of a full range of body movement and be capable of moving freely among the guests.
  • Should be a high school graduate or the equivalent.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Must attach Resume and Current class schedule (weekly view).
  • Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations.
  • All applicants must be available for an on-site interview at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, HI.
  • IMPORTANT: To start working at BYU–Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center, all new hires must complete the Form I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S. As part of the I-9 process, prospective employees are required to provide certain documents to prove identity and work authorization.
