About The Position

Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit delivers general and Jewish education to Jewish children from early childhood through eighth grade. Its mission is to inspire a passion for learning, responsibility to self and community, and devotion to Jewish living in a warm, innovative, and engaging environment.

The Guest Teacher implements classroom teachers’ lesson plans, supports and challenges students, manages the classroom, and supervises students during class, lunch, and recess.

Requirements

• Experience working with children.
• Strong communication skills.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Ability to manage student behavior effectively and maintain a positive, orderly classroom environment.

Nice To Haves

• A college degree in Education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to ensure a seamless learning experience.
• Motivate, support, and challenge students in a student-centered environment.
• Monitor student attendance and maintain effective classroom management.
• Foster student participation, minimize distractions, and create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Supervise students during class, lunch, and recess.
