About The Position
This posting is for substitute teaching exclusively in special education classrooms in the San Juan Unified School District. Substitute teachers work during the school year, with flexible schedules and workdays available. New guest teachers must attend an orientation and paperwork-processing event. Applicants must meet the stated credential or permit eligibility requirements and complete required background, health, and reference checks.
Requirements
- Hold a teaching credential based on a degree and student teaching, or be eligible to apply for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
- To be eligible for an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit, possess a bachelor's degree or higher and attach unofficial transcripts showing the conferral date.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Obtain a clear TB test.
- Pass an AB2534 reference check.
- Submit a complete and signed application with requested information and required attachments.
Responsibilities
- Provide substitute teaching in special education classrooms.
- Attend an orientation and paperwork-processing event if a new guest teacher.
