Guest Services Officer, Museum Events (Part Time)
About The Position

As a Guest Services Officer, Museum Events, you'll play an important role in supporting museum events by creating a welcoming environment, ensuring guest safety, and protecting artwork during public programs, special events, and private functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people in a dynamic, event-driven environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required with demonstrated reading and writing proficiency in English
- Strong work history with excellent attendance and reliability
- Customer service or hospitality experience preferred
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-volume or stressful situations
- Strong observation and situational awareness
- Ability to communicate policies and directions clearly and respectfully
- Sound judgment and ability to escalate concerns appropriately
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding museum security
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, answering questions, and assisting guests in a courteous and professional manner throughout museum events.
- Monitor galleries and public spaces to help prevent damage or theft of artwork and museum property while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Remain alert to changing conditions, handle challenging situations with confidence and professionalism, and communicate concerns to supervisors when appropriate.
- Conduct gallery inspections, complete incident reports, perform routine safety checks, and remove or report hazards that could impact visitors or staff.
- Assist with emergency procedures, including evacuating visitors and staff quickly and safely when necessary.
- Manage multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining museum policies, confidentiality, and professional appearance standards.
