Rooted in heritage and attuned to the present, The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel invites a new generation to experience the Upper East Side with the ease of a local and the elegance of a classic The Surrey, a Corinthia Hotel is seeking to recruit a Guest Service Attendant for the front service of The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel. The Guest Service Attendant plays an important role to ensure the smooth check in and checkout of guests and to maintain and exceed The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel standards. The Guest Service Attendant will also assist in achieving goals and targets set, while maintaining and building on the reputation of the Hotel.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years within hospitality.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English. Fluency in another language an advantage.
  • Knowledge of property management systems (e.g. Micros/Fidelio, Opera, toast, etc.).
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or Tourism (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Supports the hotel operation in times of demand.
  • Maintains effective communication within the department and ensure that the Front Office Managers are kept well informed of any problems/queries that have arisen.
  • Liaises with other departments to ensure good communication and offer support.
  • Check in and checkout within the Hotel specific requirements
  • Takes a proactive approach to the door activities, anticipating potential opportunities i.e. jogging suggestions/directions.
  • Greets and maintains an excellent working relationship with guests/clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure the management of guest luggage (arrival/departure and storage) is recorded with the appropriate labelling.
  • Ensure appropriate reception of guests on arrival by limousine at hotel entrance is carried out.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with local taxi drivers.
  • Ensure a high level of local knowledge with regards to nearby streets, attractions, shops, amenities etc.
