About The Position

Guest Services Attendants are the first point of contact for Trico Centre for Family Wellness members and guests. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming, professional, and efficient experience while providing hands-on exposure to recreation facility operations, customer service, and administrative systems. This position is ideal for post-secondary students interested in Sport & Recreation Management, Business, Hospitality, or Customer Experience who enjoy working with people, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and building skills that support a career in sport and recreation.

Requirements

  • Previous customer care experience preferred, but not required.
  • Comfortable handling cash and point-of-sale systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn recreation software quickly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy, public environment.
  • Friendly, professional, reliable, and punctual.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems calmly.
  • Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • High School Diploma (post-secondary students encouraged to apply).
  • Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C (or willingness to obtain).
  • Criminal Record Check required at time of hire (within last 6 months if already completed).
  • Mature, responsible and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to deal with a varied and busy work environment.
  • Strong behaviour management and conflict resolution skills with people of all ages.
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours within the scope of operations (Monday – Sunday, 5:45 am – 10:00 pm).

Nice To Haves

  • Studying Sport & Recreation Management, Kinesiology, Business, Tourism, Hospitality, or related fields.
  • Interested in gaining experience in facility operations and customer experience.
  • Motivated to develop leadership, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate Trico Centre’s mission, values, and commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Welcome guests and create a friendly, professional first impression.
  • Provide tours and information to prospective members and visitors.
  • Process admissions, memberships, program registrations, rentals, and product sales.
  • Handle cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately.
  • Respond to phone and in-person inquiries in a positive and solution-focused manner.
  • Maintain an organized and professional front desk workspace.
  • Communicate updates and operational information through internal systems (Microsoft Teams).
  • Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintain current certifications required for the role.
  • Collaborate with all departments to support smooth facility operations.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate when appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
