About The Position

The Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District strives to increase and enhance recreational opportunities by providing a variety of quality programs and activities for the residents of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, and surrounding communities. Requirements

  • Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays based on the needs of the District.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • CPR, AED, first aid certification, or the ability to become certified within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, feel, or finger; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • Basic computer knowledge with programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Other programs include CivicRec and Paylocity.

  • Provide excellent customer service in a timely manner to internal and external customers, and patrons.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of District programs and offerings to answer questions and process memberships, classes, program enrollments, Facility rentals, etc.
  • Proficient at communicating internally and externally via email, phone, and in-person to supervisors, co-workers, participants, parents, volunteers, and other community members.
  • Attends staff meetings and departmental training.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct customer service to community members, guests, and staff.
  • Assists with program and membership registrations.
  • Answers phone calls at the rec center.
  • Serves as a central communication person for all departments to filter information to the public.
  • Conducts building tours for community members.
  • Performs basic janitorial functions in facilities including but not limited to mopping floors, taking out trash, cleaning up spills, washing windows, and cleaning workout equipment.
  • Enforces rules and policies with staff and guests within the building.
