About The Position

This role is a part-time position that combines responsibilities for both the Breakfast Host and Front Desk/Guest Service Representative roles at the Comfort Inn Vadnais Heights. The ideal candidate enjoys being part of a team, is hard-working, possesses a positive "can-do" attitude, and strives to deliver exceptional customer service. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The Breakfast Host is responsible for coordinating breakfast service, maintaining a clean and stocked breakfast area, and interacting pleasantly with guests. The Guest Service Representative is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for providing an exceptional guest experience during check-in and check-out, answering phones, assisting with reservations, and ensuring guest satisfaction. This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Must be available evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of local attractions and entertainment venues.
  • Considerable knowledge of computer systems for registration, reservations and backup systems.
  • Above average mathematical comprehension.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, some of whom will require a high level of patience, tact and diplomacy, to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate breakfast service and maintain a clean and stocked breakfast area.
  • Set up breakfast stations and ensure appropriate quantities of food and beverages.
  • Interact with guests pleasantly during breakfast service.
  • Put away breakfast items and clean the kitchen and breakfast area at the end of the shift.
  • Perform routine daily tasks as per the daily checklist.
  • Provide knowledge of hotel facilities and amenities.
  • Communicate with guests and employees verbally and in writing.
  • Perform the check-in and check-out process for guests.
  • Answer all incoming and in-house phone calls.
  • Assist callers with making and/or changing reservations.
  • Assist all guests as necessary to ensure a positive experience.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Answer questions and provide clear direction to guests and employees.
