About The Position

This role is a part-time position that combines the responsibilities of a Breakfast Host and a Front Desk Guest Service Representative. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The Breakfast Host is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and cleaning the breakfast area, ensuring food and beverages are stocked, and interacting positively with guests. The Guest Service Representative is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for check-in/check-out, answering phones, assisting with reservations, and ensuring a positive guest experience. This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of local attractions and entertainment venues.
  • Considerable knowledge of computer systems for registration, reservations and backup systems.
  • Above average mathematical comprehension to understand and interpret numbers as they apply to operations in hotels.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with employees and guests.
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, some of whom will require a high level of patience, tact and diplomacy, to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and thank guests for their patronage.
  • Set up breakfast stations.
  • Maintain appropriate quantity of food and beverage at stations during breakfast hours.
  • Keep breakfast area clean and stocked.
  • Interact with guests pleasantly during shift.
  • Put away breakfast at the end of the shift.
  • Clean kitchen and breakfast area at the end of the shift.
  • Perform routine daily tasks as set forth in the daily checklist.
  • Provide knowledge on hotel facilities and amenities.
  • Communicate with guests and employees both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform the check-in and check-out process.
  • Answer all incoming and in-house phone calls.
  • Assist callers with making and/or changing reservations.
  • Assist all guests as necessary to ensure a positive experience.
  • Supportive functions include assisting guests and performing other tasks as requested by supervisors.
