About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center is looking for a Guest Service Ambassador to join our team in Springfield, MA! This is a part-time position working 16 hours per week on the 2nd shift, with flexible weekdays and 4-hour shifts (3pm-7pm). Rotating weekends and holidays are required. The role involves assisting patients and families with menu selections, providing guidance on food choices, communicating concerns to nursing and clinical nutrition teams, preparing and delivering meals, ensuring food safety and quality, and managing operations and coordination related to meal services.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or HiSet preferred
GED or HiSET

Responsibilities

Assist patients and families with menu selections that align with Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) orders
Provide guidance and recommend appropriate food choices and alternatives
Communicate patient concerns or intake issues to nursing and Clinical Nutrition teams
Accurately assemble and deliver meals, snacks, and supplements in compliance with diet orders and allergies
Verify patient identity using dual identifiers during delivery
Ensure trays are complete and assist patients with setup when needed
Coordinate meal delivery with nursing staff for point-of-care patients
Follow safe food handling practices, including proper hygiene and temperature control
Maintain clean workspaces (“clean in, clean out”)
Practice First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory methods
Record meal intake, supplements, fluids, and calorie counts as required
Track trays and report any issues promptly
Stock and replenish tray line supplies and maintain inventory levels
Process commissary orders to ensure consistent availability of food items
