About The Position

Big Sur Campground & Cabins is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Guest Service Agent to join their team. This role is responsible for a variety of guest-facing duties, including processing check-ins and check-outs, managing bookings, handling payments, coordinating with housekeeping, and providing local information. The position also involves attending the Camp Store, which includes stocking, sales, customer service, and managing inner tube rentals. The ideal candidate will be flexible, eager to learn, and able to maintain a high level of customer service in a dynamic outdoor environment.

  • Flexible schedule - willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Must be available to work for at least 6 months.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 2 years of previous experience in a similar position would be an asset.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Processing all guest check-ins, check-outs, site/cabin assignments, and early check-in / late check-out requests.
  • Creating and managing guest bookings, securing deposit and final payment.
  • Ensuring rates are accurate, verifying and adjusting billing for guests.
  • Coordinating with Housekeeping to track room status and guest concerns.
  • Providing local information and assistance to all guests and visitors.
  • Attending the Camp Store, including stocking & displaying products, receiving and disbursing money to customers, maintaining a high level of customer service, smiling and greeting customers, answering customers’ questions, and maintaining cleanliness of the store.
  • Managing inner tube rentals and ensuring all inner tubes are returned by the end of the day.
  • Maintaining complete knowledge of campground operations.
  • Answering telephone calls with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Describing accommodations and all amenities.
  • Obtaining all designated information to book a reservation.
  • Responding to all guest email inquiries and sharing with the appropriate Manager as necessary.
  • Accommodating special requests.
  • Exercising personal discipline and extra diligence to assure that projects are completed on a timely basis.
  • Resolving guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Obtaining assigned bank and ensuring the accuracy of contracted monies.
  • Keeping the bank secure.
  • Presenting folios to guests and resolving any disputed charges.
  • Performing additional duties, as assigned.
