About The Position

Basecamp is a rapidly growing chain of boutique hotels located in Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise & Kananaskis in Alberta, and Revelstoke in British Columbia. The company prides itself on an energetic team driven by core values, aiming to provide guests with a home away from home. This position is for a full-time Guest Service Agent who will enthusiastically greet customers and cater to their needs throughout their stay. The role requires a strong, motivated individual who can integrate into an existing team with similar drive and commitment.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English; both verbally and written.
  • Ability to accurately input information using Hotel Property Management Software.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts throughout the week.
  • Must have the mobility to climb stairs throughout the day and be able to lift 40lb.
  • Computer and Microsoft skills are a must.
  • Ability to comprehend and perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and dependable.
  • Strong work ethic with a team player.
  • Ability to stand for long hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail experience
  • Previous working knowledge of hotel PMS applications – Webrez Pro experience preferred.
  • 1 year customer service previous experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, listen, and understand requests, respond with appropriate action and provide accurate information such as outlet hours and local attractions.
  • Complete the registration, check-in, and check-out procedures.
  • Assist guests with payment transactions and ensure proper methods of payment are taken and processed accurately.
  • Promptly answer the telephone-using positive, professional fluently in English.
  • Utilize the company computers and reservation software to input and receive information.
  • Remain calm and alert, especially during an emergency and/or heavy hotel activity and resolve complications such as location changes or credit issues.
  • File guest complaints and inquiries; conducting thorough research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiate results.
  • Assist our housekeeping team, fulfilling guest requests when required.
  • Maintain a clean “guest ready” working environment.
  • Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Assist in keeping the common areas clean and tidy.
  • Assist in customer service in connection with rental amenities.
