Under direct supervision, provides patients with food and nutrition services. This includes working with patients on the room service process, passing and picking up patient trays, distributing between-meal snacks, providing pantry stocks to nursing units, and acting as a liaison between the patient, Dietary and Nutrition, and Nursing Services. The role requires a high school graduate or equivalent work experience, basic knowledge of tray identification systems, basic nutrition knowledge related to the patient menu program, and strong communication and teamwork skills. The position also involves understanding and applying AIDET guidelines, stocking unit pantries, reporting meal service problems, assisting with tray setup and food preparation, communicating with patients and staff in a positive manner, retrieving dirty trays, and ensuring patient safety with hand sanitizer. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of fire safety, safe chemical usage, and the HACCP program, as well as maintaining organization of storerooms, scanning patient trays, and cleaning work areas. The position is 20 hours per week.
