GTM Engineer

Hypha•New York, NY
•$160,000 - $190,000

About The Position

Hypha is seeking a GTM Engineer to take ownership of and evolve the revenue systems, including automation, data pipelines, and outbound infrastructure, that support their sales and marketing teams. This is a strategic role focused on rebuilding and extending these systems to accommodate future company growth (5x current size) rather than just maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of scalability and tradeoffs, with the ability to architect robust systems.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience scaling GTM systems in a $0-$20M ARR environment.
  • A builder's mentality, focused on designing robust systems rather than patching existing ones.
  • Strong technical fundamentals, including comfort with SQL, API integrations, and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining AI agents in production, including monitoring output quality, handling failures, managing cost/latency, and iterating on prompts/logic.
  • Fluency with modern automation and AI tooling (e.g., Clay, n8n, Make) and comfort working directly with LLM APIs.
  • Judgment over tool familiarity; ability to evaluate, adopt, or replace tools as needs change.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ownership; ability to decide how systems should work.
  • Clear communication skills, able to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders and defend technical decisions to engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in RevOps, marketing operations, or sales engineering at a high-growth B2B SaaS or fintech company.
  • Experience with warehouse-first data architectures (Snowflake/dbt-style pipelines, reverse ETL).
  • Experience in a regulated or compliance-sensitive industry (fintech, healthtech, etc.).
  • Prior experience as the first or founding GTM/automation hire.

Responsibilities

  • Own the GTM automation layer end-to-end: enrichment, lead/account routing, scoring, outbound sequencing, and integrations connecting CRM, data warehouse, and GTM tools.
  • Re-architect existing workflows by auditing current systems, understanding their rationale, and deciding what to keep, rebuild, or retire.
  • Build scalable outbound automation infrastructure for prospecting and personalization, including enrichment waterfalls, signal-based triggers, and AI-assisted research/messaging.
  • Deploy and maintain custom AI agents in production for tasks like research, enrichment, qualification, and outreach drafting, ensuring reliability through versioning, testing, and cost/latency management.
  • Set technical direction for the GTM stack, anticipating needs for the next 12-18 months.
  • Design systems for future growth (3-5x current headcount and revenue), focusing on architecture and data contracts.
  • Instrument and monitor built systems with alerting, error handling, and runbooks for fast issue resolution.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leadership to translate revenue strategy into functional systems.
  • Make build-vs-buy decisions for tooling, aiming for consolidation.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package: $160,000-$190,000 base salary + equity.
  • License to change the existing system.
  • Direct line to strategy and autonomy in making architectural calls.
