About The Position

Choice Aviation Services is seeking a skilled, certified Forklift Repair Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ground support equipment. The role supports safe, reliable, and efficient airport operations by servicing equipment such as baggage tugs and carts, belt loaders, push-back tractors, aircraft air conditioners, and ground power units. The schedule will be determined by the Director of Training and GSE, Linden Barnes. Compensation is competitive and based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified technician with a minimum of two years of certification.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and diagnosing hydraulic and electrical systems and performing preventative maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of forklift repair, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to maintain accurate service documentation.
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and kneel or lie on the back to access vehicles.

• Experience working with various forklift models and brands.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and comprehensive repairs on ground support equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and expertise to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance to keep equipment in safe and reliable working order.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, and remove malfunctioning units from service until repairs are complete.
• Respond to emergency calls involving ground support equipment malfunctions or accidents.
• Complete accurate maintenance and repair documentation in compliance with carrier, airport, and government regulations.
