Marketing - End Investor Growth Engineer

Purpose UnlimitedToronto, ON
CA$100,000 - CA$140,000Hybrid

About The Position

Purpose Unlimited is seeking a Growth Engineer to join their end investor growth squad. This role is crucial for reaching and engaging potential investors before they even identify themselves. As the technical backbone, you will build and maintain systems that enable a small team to connect with a large investor audience. You will operate at the intersection of data infrastructure, marketing technology, and AI-powered automation, removing friction to accelerate growth. This position embodies innovation by reimagining the end investor growth function for an AI-first world. The work involves designing systems for audience segmentation, campaign data aggregation, personalized content triggering, performance anomaly detection, investor profile enrichment, reporting, and A/B test tracking. You will be responsible for designing the architecture, governing outputs, and defining quality standards. Your unique contributions will include designing the overarching architecture, identifying data quality issues, translating growth goals into technical systems, evaluating tools, building scalable integrations, defining data quality, and proactively managing risk.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering or growth engineering experience, with a track record of shipping reliable, production-quality systems in a fast-moving environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain integrations between marketing tools, data platforms, and third-party APIs — you have done this in production, not just in side projects
  • Solid command of data: you can build a pipeline, write a meaningful query, and produce reporting that non-technical colleagues can actually trust and use
  • Working knowledge of how modern marketing stacks fit together — event tracking, audience data flows, and campaign attribution at the channel level
  • Real experience using AI tools to build or automate something — not familiarity, actual implementation with a measurable outcome you can speak to

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry where data handling and compliance requirements shaped how systems were designed and built
  • Comfort operating as a technical individual contributor in a small, fast-moving team — carrying significant ownership without layers of oversight or detailed specifications
  • A demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous end investor growth goals into scoped, sequenced technical work — and to make progress when requirements are still being figured out
  • Experience working with behavioural analytics and connecting audience engagement signals to meaningful business outcomes
  • An instinct for where AI automation creates real leverage in an end investor growth workflow versus where it introduces complexity or risk without a clear benefit

Responsibilities

  • Map and close the most critical gaps in our investor audience tracking infrastructure — establishing a clear baseline within your first 30 days.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines that give the end investor growth team a unified, reliable view of how investor audiences engage with our brand across every channel we operate.
  • Deploy at least one AI-assisted workflow that measurably improves an investor acquisition metric within the first two quarters — whether that is audience reach, engagement quality, or acquisition cost efficiency.
  • Own the technical infrastructure for end investor growth experimentation — ensuring the team can run clean tests and make data-backed decisions without needing an engineer for every experiment.
  • Establish the Growth Engineer function as a trusted technical partner to the squad — with documented systems that are reliable, scalable, and built to outlast the person who built them.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation including equity program
  • Comprehensive group health and dental benefits and life insurance at little to no cost
  • Lifestyle Spending Account for all your wellness needs
  • Flexible paid time-off policy covering vacation, sick, and mental health days
  • Paid parental leave for eligible employees with a top-up
  • Generous Group RRSP matching and an optional TFSA program
  • Training opportunities and tuition support year-round
