About The Position

The Group Travel Operations Lead Specialist provides assistance to the manager and supervisor of the department on the day-to-day operations of the group travel department. This role involves processing contractual agreements, client/vendor accounting, processing legal names, rooming lists, and flight requests, and reporting group details to necessary vendors. The specialist will also handle client and vendor communication, customer service, support group travel staff and travel advisors, process payments, and track revenue. Additionally, they will review Group Sales Agent contracts and files for turnover to Group Coordinators, review and approve contractual pricing and profit margins, act as a liaison for website updates, oversee the preparation of client and tour manager documents, and oversee the operations of each group departure with appropriate coordinators. The role also includes advocating for employee development through ongoing monitoring and training.

Requirements

  • High School GED Required
  • 1-3 years Travel sales and service Required
  • Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel software.
  • Proved ability to communicate effectively and to coordinate people and activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with client management and travel booking platforms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of each group departure with appropriate coordinators.
  • Advocate employee development through ongoing monitoring and training to ensure all staff is current on any changes to organizational policies and procedures.
