About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Group Supervisor at Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek, Arizona. The academy is located on a 180-acre campus with student housing, a thrift store, cafe, barbershop, church, weight room, football stadium, and athletic center. The Group Supervisor exercises direct control and direction over assigned subordinate staff, including Senior Coach Counselors, Coach Counselors, Night Coach Counselors, and transportation staff. The role supports the safety, care, and around-the-clock supervision of students in the program. It also involves participation and authority in decisions about hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, promoting, discharging, assigning, evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining employees, as well as program delivery. The position calls for compassion, consistency, and a commitment to helping youth succeed by creating a positive, safe, and supportive environment.

Requirements

Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect.
Have a desire to work with troubled teens.
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise assigned subordinate staff, including Senior Coach Counselors, Coach Counselors, Night Coach Counselors, and transportation staff.
Support the safety, care, and around-the-clock supervision of students in the program.
Participate in and exercise authority over employee decisions, including hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, promoting, discharging, assigning, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining staff.
Participate in decisions concerning program delivery.
Create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for the youth served.
