About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Group Sales Manager for the new OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark in Oklahoma City. This role is crucial for booking groups, particularly within the Native/Indigenous and government markets. The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving booking goals, ensuring client satisfaction, and contributing to the resort's yield management strategies. Requirements

  • 2+ years of previous full-service hotel sales experience
  • High school degree required
  • Personality to work closely with prospective clients to negotiate contracts.
  • Business communication skills include preparing RFP’s and contracts for clients.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Computer proficiency in Word, excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Present a professional appearance and personality to confidently interact with clients and hotel team members.
  • Ability to manage time to meet needs of clients
  • Effective computer with clients and hotel team

  • Associates /bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Book groups within the Native and Indigenous markets as well as state and federal government markets.
  • Achieve booking goals, including new group bookings and repeat business.
  • Understand hotel operations to ensure commitments are met and result in positive guest experiences.
  • Participate in active sales solicitation.
  • Uphold company sales policies.
  • Positively contribute to the resort’s Yield Management strategies.
  • Network through participation in community and professional associations, activities, and events.
  • Communicate accurately to operations the details needed to satisfy the contract.
  • Contact representatives from respective market segments to solicit business for the hotel.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics.
  • Finalize contracts for group bookings.
  • Maintain work area clean and organized.
  • Promote employee empowerment.
  • Relay accurate forecasting information for rolling forecast.
  • Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Converse with guest and hotel department heads to plan function details, such as space requirements, publicity, time schedule, food service and decorations.
  • Consult newspapers, trade journals, etc., to learn of contemplative conventions and social functions and to learn about the market and trends.
  • Entertain potential clients/guests.
  • Execute cut-off dates on group bookings.
  • Plan and conduct pre-cons and post-cons.
  • Prepare and mail brochures, menus to prospective clients.
  • Analyze requirement of function, outline available hotel facilities and service offered and quote pricing.
  • Arrange for VIP amenities to be delivered.
  • Assist in planning and participating in sales blitz.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
  • Involved in community as assigned by supervisor.
  • Obtain 2 years history on blocks of 50 rooms or more.
  • Obtain reader board summaries from competition.
  • Attend mandatory meetings.
  • Participate in annual competitor survey.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
