About The Position

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Boston Marlborough is looking for an enthusiastic and results-oriented Group Sales Manager - Corporate to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-focused sales professional to grow corporate business and strengthen their presence within the Marlborough and surrounding business communities. The hotel features 230 spacious suites, meeting and event space, complimentary made-to-order breakfast, an evening reception, on-site dining, and convenient access to major area businesses and attractions. As the Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business and growing existing corporate accounts to maximize hotel occupancy and revenue. This position will be responsible for proactively developing and managing group and catering business within the Corporate market.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of hotel sales, corporate sales, hospitality sales, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience with corporate accounts, negotiated rates, group rooms, or business travel preferred.
  • Experience working with hotel sales systems such as Delphi, preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Marlborough/Worcester/MetroWest business market is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new corporate accounts within the local and regional market.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with corporate clients, travel managers, meeting planners, and business partners.
  • Generate new room-night and revenue opportunities through proactive sales calls, emails, appointments, site visits, networking, and community involvement.
  • Perform and oversee preparation for Corporate Group Catering and Events including completion of Banquet Event Order (BEO), meeting room set up specifications, banquet food and beverage, audio visual, program details, billing details and collection of payments
  • Respond promptly to incoming group opportunities and effectively convert qualified leads into definite business.
  • Sell guestrooms, meeting space, food and beverage and other hotel services while maximizing the total value of each opportunity.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, group resumes, room block agreements and supporting documentation for confirmed business.
  • Manage the sales process from initial prospecting through closing and account development.
  • Conduct hotel tours and presentations for prospective corporate clients that showcase the hotel and create confidence in the customer experience.
  • Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline, including prospecting activity, tentative business, follow-up dates and account development plans.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales, Revenue Management, and hotel operations to maximize revenue and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
  • Stay informed about local business activity, market trends, competitor activity, community events and demand generators to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, business functions, and community events to increase hotel visibility and generate new business.
  • Maintain accurate account information, sales activities, and opportunities within the hotel's sales/CRM systems.
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance objectives.
  • Develop strategies to increase weekday occupancy and strengthen the hotel's corporate group, banquet and catering business.
  • Collaborate with the Front office, Operations and other hotel departments to ensure a seamless transition from sales to event execution.
  • Supervise the coordination and planning for assigned group and catering events.
  • Support overall sales and marketing initiatives as needed.
