About The Position

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Group Manager for Space & Missiles ID&C Test Ops, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base in Arnold, TN. This Group Manager will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for operating and maintaining the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The individual hired for this position will function as an ID&C Group Manager for the Space Test and the Hypersonic Test Mission Areas. The manager in this role is responsible for oversight, management and leadership of an ID&C Group level organization consisting of approximately 25 personnel (organized in multiple sub-groups) across a diverse set of Instrumentation, Data, and Controls (ID&C) specialties. Responsibilities also include ensuring TOS contract requirements and deliverables are met in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Extensive and effective coordination with customer, contract, and government organizations is required to be effective in this position. Planning and reporting both within the TOS organization and the DoD client is also required. The successful candidate will frequently interface directly with assigned government managers in the Test Information Systems Section (TSDIB), the 715th Test Squadron - Hypersonic Systems Test, and the 718th Test Squadron - Space Test in accordance with contract requirements and organizational leadership direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree focusing on Engineering, Science, or Information Systems and a minimum of 8 years of applicable experience.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining personnel relationships.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and access to DoD network and computer systems
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

  • Active DoD secret or higher-level security clearance
  • Mathematical or computer expertise or a combination of the same.
  • Knowledge and experience in Development, Sustainment, Deployment and Operations of Data and Control Systems across the Test Mission Enterprise.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated practice of related safety measures and setting a good example for others with respect to safety
  • Extensive prior Instrumentation Data & Controls system development and/or operations experience
  • Prior experience managing a test, capital improvement, maintenance, training, or overhead project, or a portion of a project budget.
  • Master's degree in technical or management field.
  • Skilled at writing and oral communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor less experienced technical staff.
  • Familiarity with AEDC Test Facilities, Processes, and Personnel is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading an ID&C Group level organization consisting of approximately personnel (organized in multiple sections) across a diverse set of Instrumentation, Data, and Controls (ID&C) specialties. Specialties include ID&C Engineers, Software Engineers, Network Engineers, System Administrators, Engineering Technical Specialists, etc.
  • Responsible for delivery and/or operations of Test Mission Area Data and Control systems supporting the Space Test and Hypersonics Test Mission Areas in support of the TOS contract and the AEDC Mission. Interfacing and reporting to NAS Sr. Management, the Government Client, and other AEDC contracted functions.
  • Delivery of certain ID&C contract level deliverables (CDRL)
  • Design, Development, Sustainment, and Deployment of the Group assets will be accomplished through personal contributions and supervision of the assigned work force.
  • Support the use of common work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract.
  • Provide priority inputs and direction for ID&C Branch planning/work coordination meetings.
  • Participate in the development of long-term planning goals for the ID&C Branch. Interface with NAS, Government Client and other contractor counterparts to develop long term needs and goals associated with ID&C systems and processes.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to supervisors and/or lead engineers for tasks required to support the AEDC Mission.
  • Establish staffing requirements for engineering necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • Ensure group personnel have appropriate training and certifications as required by Government regulations.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
