As a Global Supply Chain Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment. You will participate in the training, developing, and evaluating of hourly team members, and contribute to the development of highly effective teams. This role leads Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serves as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas. You will be responsible for meeting or exceeding production cost schedules and maintaining quality requirements. This includes maintaining awareness of quality standards, communicating department quality goals, and leveraging resources to solve quality issues. You will build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management, and understand and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between the Company and the United Auto Workers Union. The role involves implementing and following systems that prevent the reoccurrence of known issues, promoting safe work practices, and achieving objectives for ergonomics, health and safety, and housekeeping. You will motivate, train, and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods, ensuring team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training). The goal is to achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, controlling costs, and achieving productivity improvements. Additionally, you will coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities.
