About The Position
The Group Leader sets goals for program participants, facilitates activities, and prepares curriculum and lesson plans. The role helps maintain a safe, learning-focused environment for children participating in programs outside school hours. The Group Leader provides homework help, supervises children, supports tutors and activity specialists, maintains supplies and participant records, and attends program meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Content-specific experience, such as sports, arts, or literacy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with children.
- Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
- Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multitask.
Responsibilities
- Set goals for program participants.
- Facilitate activities and prepare curriculum and lesson plans.
- Maintain a safe and learning-focused environment for program participants.
- Provide homework help and supervise children in programs outside school hours.
- Monitor children and take daily attendance.
- Assist tutors and activity specialists with managing and documenting behavior.
- Maintain supplies.
- Assist with data collection and upkeep of participant documents.
- Attend necessary program meetings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
