About The Position

Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director of Education, manage the daily operations of the School’s Out Program. This role involves supervising children, promoting learning opportunities, and leading activities in conjunction with the Site Director at an assigned site(s). The Group Leader will assist the Site Director in planning and implementing a holistic curriculum that reflects Y values, and will serve as a role model for acceptable behaviors and decision-making for participants and peers. The position requires active participation in all related in-services, trainings, and activities, and the use of appropriate guidance and developmental techniques to create an orderly environment conducive to learning and child safety. The Group Leader may also provide substitute coverage to other sites on an as needed basis and is responsible for enforcing and supporting the policies outlined in the Y Parent Guide, Behavior Management Guide, and Staff Handbook.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Additional years of professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in working with school-age children.
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service/relation.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex, critical problem solving independently.
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn appropriate child development techniques.
  • Demonstrated track record of timeliness and punctuality.
