About The Position

The Group Housing Supervisor will assist with supporting the Group Housing Specialists and other specialty roles in partnering with group clients to ensure a successful group guest experience. This role requires leadership, a passion for service, and problem-solving abilities. By understanding each team member's unique stories and needs, the supervisor will enhance their experience by supporting and motivating the team in creating WOW moments for their respective clients. The Group Housing Supervisor works out of an off-site corporate location and, with management support, oversees the daily operations, job knowledge, training, coaching, and ensures the proficient and accurate use of systems and processes for the Group Housing Specialist roles. This allows for memorable experiences for group clientele and affiliated attendees.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • At least two (2) years of prior relevant experience in guest service
  • At least two (2) years of prior relevant experience using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Prior supervisory experience at a major hotel and casino resort complex.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned operational functions of Group Housing are consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, division, and properties serviced.
  • Manage and monitor daily labor, departmental budget, operations of Group Housing, and marketing strategies to produce profitability while meeting departmental needs and objectives.
  • Manage Human Resources responsibilities for Group Housing, including creating a work environment that fosters teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
  • Make recommendations for quality hiring that encompass the company’s diversity commitment and training.
  • Support Management in overseeing Room Blocks, Contracts, and the Housing Specialists team, monitoring all contracted group block and pick-ups daily.
  • Attend weekly block and pick up review meetings and support teams in ensuring accurate updates of all groups, including relaying historical patterns and circumstances that may impact room inventory/revenue.
  • Assist in managing the daily schedule and ensuring proper team coverage, while supporting the management team with payroll needs such as approving time off requests and monitoring the sick line.
  • Oversee departmental and team execution of daily report distribution and key milestone activities for each group, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of processes.
  • Maintain effective communications with operational departments to resolve situations impacting guest service.
  • Attend meetings with clients and Property staff as needed, supporting Specialists in liaison efforts between Sales, Convention Service Managers, and group clientele/meeting planners.
  • Support the Contracts Coordinator in group assignment distribution to teams, ensuring a fair, consistent process with manageable workloads.
  • Work closely with the training team to support onboarding, mentorship efforts, and develop/train Group Housing Specialist roles in additional tasks/responsibilities for advancement opportunities.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and departmental procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning and work areas are kept stocked, clean, and in working order.
