About The Position

Equinox Chestnut Hill is seeking Group Fitness Instructors to teach classes and deliver the Equinox experience to members. Instructors follow each class description, adjust intensity when needed, and monitor participants’ exercise intensity throughout class. They ensure classes start and finish on time, teach their assigned classes regularly, and keep substitute coverage to a minimum. They communicate with the Group Fitness Manager about member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and substitutions.

Requirements

• Possess a current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, or ACSM accepted) or a degree in a related field.
• Have experience teaching Group Fitness classes in a related discipline.
• Possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification.
• Be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations, and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode.
• Be eager to learn and continue professional development and education.
• Be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing.
• Have access to regular email and phone communication.
• Have the legal right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to members in each class.
• Adhere to the class description and modify intensity for participants when necessary.
• Continuously monitor exercise intensity throughout the class.
• Ensure each class begins and ends on time.
