About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers, setting new standards in addiction treatment with evidence-based clinical curriculum and individualized care. The Group Facilitator will conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups tailored to meet each client's challenges and needs. This role involves assisting clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools. The facilitator will collaborate consistently with clinical staff to track client progress and challenges, escalating any significant client concerns to the Clinical Director. Maintaining thorough documentation of all group sessions, clinical assessments, and individual client charting is also a key responsibility. This is a part-time position, with working hours from Mondays through Thursdays, 9am to 2pm, at Avenues Extended Care, an intensive outpatient facility providing clinical drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field required
Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. CIT, RAC, CAC, LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, or LPC
Substance abuse experience required
Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality
