About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers with seventeen locations across seven states, known for its evidence-based clinical curriculum and highly individualized care. The company offers programs spanning detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. The Group Facilitator position is part-time, working Mondays through Thursdays from 9am to 2pm. This role is based at Avenues Extended Care, an intensive outpatient facility that provides clinical drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. The facility offers a robust yet flexible schedule of individual and group therapies and holistic arts, serving clients who have completed inpatient treatment and seek continued support during their transition back to daily life. The skilled staff provide quality clinical services and medication-assisted treatment. The facility itself is described as fresh and beautiful, offering ample space, a fully stocked client lounge, a client kitchen, and outdoor recreational areas, providing a safe and supportive environment for clients to strengthen their sober skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field required
• Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. CIT, RAC, CAC, LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, or LPC
• Substance abuse experience required
• Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
• Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs
• Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
• Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
• Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
• Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
• Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed
