The Group Benefits Administrator III, reporting to the Manager, Group Administration, is based in their downtown Edmonton location. This is a key role responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the department to ensure efficient workflow. The position also collaborates closely with the development team, executes quality assurance processes, supports new client implementations, and maintains a high standard of service for clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, technological aptitude, a resourceful nature, and exceptional customer service skills.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years in Group Benefits administration, claims or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency in using software and technology platforms is required.
  • Strong customer service skills with experience handling client interactions professionally and efficiently is required.
  • Fluent in French and English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication is required.
  • Successful completion of a criminal and education background checks and employer reference and verification before employment is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a related field is preferred but equivalent work experience or alternative education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) including proven ability working with spreadsheets, databases, and other applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager, Group Administration with the conversion and transition of groups and members from current administration platform to new platform.
  • Work closely with the internal sales team and clients on new implementations, including coordination and setup of group benefit plans.
  • Effectively uses a Customer Relationship Management system to track and respond to written and telephone inquiries from plan administrators and clients within established service standards.
  • Investigate, research and resolve client issues, ensuring timely and accurate solutions.
  • Work closely with Business Analyst(s) to provide feedback on the user experience on system features and enhancements.
  • Provide recommendations for resolving problems and suggest improvements to processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
