Groundwork Collaborative•Washington, DC
•Hybrid

About The Position

Groundwork Collaborative is hiring interns for its Policy, Advocacy, and Research vertical and its Communications vertical. Interns will gain hands-on experience with a dynamic team advancing progressive economic policies. The internship runs January 11 through May 15, 2027, with a flexible period and scheduling that can accommodate students. The ideal candidate can work part-time (20 hours per week) or full-time. This is a hybrid internship, with in-person work on Mondays and Wednesdays at the office near Dupont Circle. Interns are compensated at $22.00 per hour and are eligible for health leave accrued at 3.33 hours per pay period. Policy interns research economic and policy issues, draft policy materials, monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyze data, and support policy events. Communications interns support background research, external communications, polling and narrative strategy, and analysis of press reach across media platforms. Applicants should submit a resume, a cover letter describing their interest in Groundwork and a specific internship (policy or communications), and a short writing sample through the web portal. Materials may be combined into one file because the platform accepts only one upload. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Selected candidates will complete a writing assessment and interview in early November, with final decisions communicated in early December.
