About The Position

The Groundskeeper maintains property grounds and performs landscape, groundskeeping, and seasonal maintenance duties. Tasks include mowing and trimming lawns, edging walkways and flower beds, pruning bushes and trees, planting, watering, fertilizing, and applying lawn-care chemicals as needed. The role also includes maintaining grounds equipment and watering systems, removing litter and trash, cleaning roads and parking areas, performing basic carpentry and painting, and clearing snow and ice. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a valid driver's license.
No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.
No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

Maintain property grounds.
Ensure proper maintenance of mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems.
Perform landscape maintenance, including leaf removal, pruning shrubs and trees, fertilizing, lawn care, and watering.
Remove litter and empty trash cans.
Clean roads, parking lots, and walks to ensure pedestrian and vehicular safety.
Perform basic carpentry and painting tasks.
Remove ice and snow from walks, roads, and lots, including applying ice melter and road sand.
Establish new plants and plantings in landscapes and through greenhouse culture.
Use manual and automatic watering systems to ensure adequate moisture for plantings.
Perform equipment safety checks and recommend necessary changes to the leader.
Maintain safe work areas during and after work projects.
Clean spills as needed, including body fluids.
Mow, cut, trim, and edge lawns and plantings; apply lawn-care chemicals as needed.
Remove snow and spread salt.
